Description
Molybdnum, First isolated in 1982
by Hjelm, the silvery-gray metal
was previously associated with lead.
Molybdenum, commonly referred to
as moly, occurs in nature as molybdenite
and other minerals. Today, it is
primarily used as an alloy to strengthen
steel and inhibit corrosion. About
70 percent of the world's molybdenum
is produced as a byproduct of copper,
with only 30 percent being produced
as a primary product. Analystssatimate
that the iron and steel industries
consume about 80 percent of the
world's molybdnum to increase its
Product's durability and handness.
It is also used for high tech metal
alloys and industrial chemicals.
Application
Ferro molybdenum
is used mainly in production of
alloys steel, such as structural
steel, spring steel, bearing steel,
tool steel, antiacid stainless steel,
heat-resistant steel and magnetic
steel etc.
